Important: Production Date Check

To avoid ordering an incompatible wiring plug, always check the DOT VIN plate stamped on the inner legshield of your Buddy before purchasing. If your vehicle’s manufacturing date is listed prior to December 2012, this unit will not function with your harness.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

Installation: Swapping this ignition cylinder requires pulling off the front headset plastics and inner legshield. Use a non-marring plastic trim pry tool to pop the structural plastic clips without cracking your painted bodywork.

Maintenance: If your current key cylinder feels sticky or tight, do not spray WD-40 or heavy grease inside — standard oils trap abrasive belt dust inside the tumblers and accelerate wear. Instead, blow it out and use a dedicated dry graphite powder lubricant to restore smooth tumbler action.
